CS-SIS Breakfast Meeting

2007 AALL Annual Meeting and Conference
Date/Time:
Tue, Jul 17 7:00am - 8:45am

Guest Speaker: Ernest Svenson

Ernie, who writes the popular blog "Ernie the Attorney," recalls that "back in the 1960's if you wanted to place a long distance call you had to have it done by the operator. Today, anyone with a computer can access pictures or music or any other kind of information, even if the source is located on the other side of the hemisphere. The cost of access is free and no one has to give permission. What are the implications of this shift in how information is gathered and shared? How will this affect business? Education? Society?” His talk, titled “New Patterns of Information Gathering and Sharing,” will address these questions.
